Privacy Policy

This website is owned by Jonathan Ferstenberg, operating through BSLD (‘BSLD’, ‘we’ or ‘I’), which can be contacted through schoolsandleaders@outlook.com.

 

In this agreement, we also refer to ‘you’, which includes ‘users’ of the website or our services, the organisations (including schools or trusts) they represent, and any ‘visitors’ who visit the website but do not make any use of our services.  We sometimes refer directly to your students, staff and school, but this is also implicit in references to ‘you’.

 

Information sharing and disclosure Data collected by us is held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

 

All reasonable precautions are taken to prevent unauthorised access to your data.

 

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control or to people that BSLD does not employ, manage or consent to work with.

Data that this policy covers

This policy covers how BSLD treats and processes personal and non-personal information that BSLD collects and receives, including information on your past use of our website.

 

Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, phone number or personal circumstances, and that is not otherwise publicly available. We collect both personal and non-personal information about individuals, organisations (which includes schools and trusts) and third parties.  

 

In this policy, we use the terms ‘data’ and ‘information’ interchangeably.

 

Information collection and use

BSLD collects personal information and information about organisations whenever a user chooses to make contact with us. Your use of this website gives us the right to collect such information. When interacting with us, we may ask you for information such as your name, email address, telephone number and further information about you or your organisation.  

 

We may collect further information through our contacts with you, including during conversations or by email. This further information allows us to fulfill our contractual obligations to you and provide you with our services.  This includes any information that is part of operating your organisation, providing your services or which aids our coaching of you as an individual or team. It may include, for example, information related to your school, its staff, its policies, performance data, internal or external reviews, governors’ minutes or confidential HR or personal information that you share with us. It may also include information related to students, such as the number of students in receipt of the Pupil Premium, number of students who have faced certain safeguarding issues, examples of pastoral matters or the speed of safeguarding responses. It may include information about your personal circumstances.  We take confidentiality and security very seriously, Every reasonable effort will therefore be made to keep the confidentiality and security and we will only use this information to provide the services specified herein.

 

We will therefore only process personal data where we have one of 6 “lawful bases” to do so under the General Data Protection Regulations: • To fulfil a contract with you, or where you have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract, • For the legitimate interests of BSLD, provided the individuals’ rights and freedoms are not impacted upon. • To comply with a legal obligation • To help to safeguard your vital interests • To perform a task in the public interest.

 

Storage and Sharing

BSLD is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

In addition, we may store your data in secure electronic form on laptops, in online storage or on written files so that I can readily access this information and use it for the purposes and services specified herein.  As noted above, every reasonable effort will be made to maintain confidentiality and security when storing and handling data.

If we work with one of our associates or with a third party who you consent (explicitly or implicitly) to us working with, we may share this data with them. We may also share it with legal enforcement agencies, according to relevant local regulations.

 

We do not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except for the purposes indicated elsewhere herein.

 

Purposes

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the services associated with this website and the business of BSLD;

  2. To provide our users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  3. To be able to contact or provide general or personalised service-related notices and promotional messages to our visitors, users and other professionals with whom we have made contact;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we may use to provide and improve our services; 

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations and to meet legal obligations.

  6. For comments, feedback, reviews, or recommendations.

  7. To provide consultancy, support or other services or to manage communications.

  8. Other information that may be needed from time to time to process a request will also be collected.

 

Communications

BSLD may contact you by email, text message, telephone, video conferencing or social media (e.g., LinkedIn) in order to answer your queries, discuss our services with you, discuss with you particular work related to you or your school, share educational developments with you, seek your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce agreements with have with you or our other policies, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. You can opt out of these communications at any time by emailing us.  

 

Security of your data

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused, or disclosed, and is not accessed except  in the performance of our duties or as otherwise specified herein. We have appropriate safeguards in place to keep your personal information as confidential and as secure as possible.

 

We will always take steps to: • protect data against accidental loss • prevent unauthorised access, use, destruction, or disclosure • ensure business continuity and disaster recovery • restrict access to personal information • train associates who work with us on data security • manage third party risks.  Your data will only be accessible to those parties indicated herein for the purposes herein. We will ensure, as far as reasonably possible, that any third parties we use for processing your personal information will do the same.

 

We undertake to report any personal data breaches in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation requirements.

 

How long do we keep your data?

We will hold this information for the duration of the time we work with you and, since we may work together again in future, for five years afterwards. After five years, we will destroy all such information.

Data Subjects also have the right to:

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

We take any complaints about our collection and use of personal information very seriously.
