Subject Development (Primary)
Primary school subject leadership is an important but challenging role.

They design, resource and train staff in an ambitious curriculum that covers a wide age range. They may be subject specialists but, very likely, some of the staff who deliver the curriculum are not. Those staff also teach a range of other subjects every day. There may be limited time for CPD and quality assurance.

I can help these subject leads excel. I offer a package of 2x half-day subject-specific workshops for individual or small groups of primary subject leaders, which includes:

Reviewing your curriculum so that it meets National Curriculum requirements

Developing your curriculum so that it is well sequenced, linked to key concepts, and supports all learners to access an ambitious programme

Designing easy-to-use resources that teachers can adapt to their classes

Creating CPD that can be delivered flexibly and helps staff implement to implement the curriculum well

Designing, and practicing together, techniques for lesson visits, book looks, and student voice that are highly effective and manageable within a normal day.

In between the two sessions, primary subject leaders will have the opportunity to work further on curriculum and resources, ready for feedback in the second session.
